Ryan Getzlaf was good last night and even had a fight but that doesn't change the fact that he's only scored four goals in his last 55 games.

Whoa...really?

I am confused by the following line :

Bobby Ryan fired a point blank shot that had Miller beat but luckily for the Sabres it caught a piece of their netminder

How could it have him beat if he saved it?
The post shot had him beat but the post saved him.

I remember all the years Hasek was playing where guys would say the same about him and how he was lucky to make a save.
It only took greater than a decade to make them realize it was far from luck, not that Miller is anything close to Hasek.

Not to be a debbie downer but according to sportsclubstats.com the Ducks have now have a 1.5% chance of making the playoffs. I'd imagine that would mean it's lights out already.

It's not too confusing....he didn't see it but it caught a piece of him not because he meant to but because the Ducks had bad luck. The puck would have beat him clean but Miller got lucky. It happens. If I was writing a Sabres blog I would have phrased it differently. It Happens.

At this point we have to stay positive. But, yeah it's not looking too good.

Steve...it is called goaltender postioning.....that is Miller's game being in the right position so pucks hit him even when he dosen't see the puck.

Randy Carlyle once again exhausted the team before the season had even started. At least the Ducks don't have to worry about it happening next year.

I'm rooting for a miracle run for a playoffs spot but I don't see it happening.

I wouldn't say the Ducks played horrible at all. They simply ran into a hot goalie and our defense played well. The Ducks made it pretty difficult for us to break out of our zone.

i like how the blogger tries downing the goal tending performance last night. using words such as luck and saved by the post.
lets face it ! miller took the gane over and beat the ducks by him self !
incredible performance!

i second this

in all due respect, there is no way i hell miller got lucky. he was outstanding, his positioning was impeccable. he was just on, he can steal games by himself, but it was a good effort by the sabres d as well.

Yeah, pretty much. Ryan gave credit to his defense, which he has to do but I don't think they played very well. The Ducks had no problem entering the zone and had plenty of great scoring chances. They just ran into a great goalie who was on top of his game.

Miller didn't score the two goals.

No not really. Most people are more interested in the Lakers and USC football. It's pretty pathetic here in SoCal.

I never said Miller wasn't good or didn't play great...I did say he got a bit lucky, which he did. Kudos to his positioning and good luck the rest of the way.

Imagine what I can upgrade my season seats to when the Ducks miss the playoffs for the second of the last three seasons.
